Gift Aid
If you are considering donating to Caravan, or already do so, you can make your donation go even further and help us to help more of our ex colleagues by doing so via Gift Aid. A donation accompanied by a Gift Ad Declaration means that we can increase the value of the donation by 28% without any additional costs to the donor.
Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation to go further.
This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make - and it doesn’t cost you a thing.
So if you want your donation to go further, Gift Aid it.

I want all donations I make to be Gift Aid unless I notify you otherwise.
To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year (currently 28p for every £1 donated).
HIGHER RATE TAX PAYERS
If you pay higher rate tax, you can personally claim relief based on the difference between the basic and higher rates.
For example, if you pay tax at 40%, and give £10 to a charity, they can receive (as before) a further £2.80, making a total of £12.80.
This £12.80 is called the “gross donation”. You can claim relief for 18% of this, which reduces the tax you pay by £2.30. This would make the net cost of a £10 cash donation by a higher rate tax payer £7.70.
