Caravan Annual Sporting Heroes Luncheon raises a record £185k

This year’s Sporting Heroes Luncheon, held annually at the Hilton on Park Lane proved to be another success for the grocery industry charity with in excess of £185,000 raised through sponsorship, ticket sales and proceeds from the raffle, £20 draw and auction.

The after-lunch speaker was the BBC sports presenter Ray Stubbs. Geoff Miller then kindly stepped in to run the auction and managed to encourage bids totalling £22,000, whilst Tessa Sanderson CBE and Iwan Thomas MBE added a touch of glamour to the raffle by picking out the 8 lucky winners.

Matt Dawson then took the stage and amused the 800 guests with his rugby tales and memories of the infamous 2003 Rugby World Cup win.

The Caravan Achievement Award winners were also displayed at the Luncheon.
