If you, your staff, or your family have been affected by the riots then the Caravan Welfare Helpline is there to help you.
Once the initial practical steps have been taken to cope with the aftermath of the riots, the insurance claims are in and damage is being rectified, then the emotional impact can take hold. If you, or anyone you know are feeling frightened, stressed or deeply affected by the riots then the Caravan Welfare Helpline is able to help.
Caravan can help: by talking your situation through with one of our advisors via phone, email or online. For people who prefer not to ask for help, or may never pick up a phone to get support, there is a web-based range of self-help tools and advice, including online chat.
Uniquely, the Caravan Helpline offers a telephone counselling service for people who have experienced incidents which are harmful, threatening or challenging.
Callers will be asked to briefly recount, but not relive, the incident with trained counsellors, who will be able to talk through ways of coping with the situation and help them to deal with any related emotional issues. An online counselling service is also available and can be found with the Helpline website.
The dedicated freephone Helpline (08088 021122) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and also features a comprehensive range of online help. It is open to all who work in the grocery industry, from the factory to the shop floor.
