Caravan Network: New Name for Young Managers

Northern Network 80s BallTo better reflect the role of the Caravan Young Managers in raising awareness about the charity they will from the 1st July be known as the Caravan Network.

Pavan Riyat, Chair of the Northern Network, welcomes the name change; “We are delighted with the new name for our committees. The change comes at a time when we have begun to build local awareness around our committees amongst the new wave of managers within our industry. The Northern Network sums up what we are doing, which is creating a new network of mangers that will grow with Caravan in years to come.”

There are three Networks nationwide; the Southern Network, the Northern Network and the Scottish Network. They represent the future of our industry and thereby the charity. The main purpose of the groups is to provide a non-competitive forum, allowing the members to network and build business relationships, while spreading awareness of the aims and work of the charity within the industry.

Caravan Network at the Diamond BallTony Lorman, Chairman of the Southern Network, comments; “The Caravan Young Managers have been a key part of the charity for many years, but unfortunately the name has become less relevant over time. Rebranding as the Caravan Network will allow us to drive greater awareness across a broader audience within the industry, as it more succinctly describes the purpose of the committee and the benefits of being part of the team.” In essence these groups operate as Caravan area committees with their own elected chair, treasurer and secretary. As the main object is networking and spreading word of the work of the charity they have no financial objectives. However, they do organise several events throughout the year where they bring their colleagues together to raise monies for the charity.
