The President’s Fundraising Committee
As the name suggests, raising funds for Caravan is the PFRC’s primary responsibility. Headed up by Mike Coupe, Group Commercial Director, J Sainsbury plc, the PFRC masterminds all Caravan’s national fundraising activity, including organising both the Diamond Ball and the Sporting Heroes Luncheon.
The Welfare Committee
Having raised the funds, the Welfare Committee is face to face with the problem of prioritising how we should help our current and former colleagues in need.
As we can only expect demand to increase in the future, the Welfare Committee’s duties will become increasingly onerous if, between us, we fail to raise enough money now for all those eligible for support from the charity.
The Welfare Strategy Group
This group is primarily concerned with monitoring trends and predicting future retirement needs and potential shortfalls in the profile and numbers of those who may need our support. It aims to help those at work today plan for their future.
The Investment Committee
This committee is responsible for reporting performance on Caravan’s investment portfolio to the Charity’s Trustees. Not just reporting, but working with the selected independent fund managers to minimise risk and optimise returns.
The Corporate Communications Strategy Group
Continued growth of the charity depends on raising positive awareness of our work at all levels within our industry. This group ensures that the tactics used appeal to all sections of our industry and that our messages are well heard and well read.
The Young Managers Committee
These three committees (based in London, Leeds and Edinburgh) represent the future of our industry and as such they are an integral part of the charity. The main objective for each group is to promote the work of Caravan through networking with industry contacts and although they have no financial objectives they do organise several events throughout the year as an opportunity to bring their colleagues together to raise monies for Caravan.
Any company supporting any three or more of these committees will be on track for a Gold Achievement Award. If you would like to hear more about how you can help please contact us on events@caravan-charity.org.uk or call 01252 875925.
