Welfare Committee

The Welfare Committee is a sub-committee of the Trustee Board with specific responsibilities.

These are as follows:

  • To endorse and record all applications for assistance from the fund
  • To report no less than twice per year to the Board of Trustees on grants and benefits made
  • To agree recommendations on new policies to the Trustees and to ensure consistency in the existing policies of the Charity
  • To agree annually on the levels of financial and other assistance and recommend changes to Trustees
  • To support the Chairman of Welfare, Welfare Development Director and Welfare Assessors in their roles
  • To support the day to day decisions on new applications which are delegated to the Director General and Welfare Development Director
  • To decide outcome for exceptional requests that fall outside current criteria benefit/assistance
  • To appoint individuals to the committee from time to time, either for specific projects or for the long-term good of the fund
  • To review the criteria for eligibility (service/finances) as and when necessary and recommend changes to Trustees
  • To assist the Welfare Development Director by providing specific information which members of the committee are able to provide through their own company positions
  • To keep up to date regarding changes in legislation and issues
  • To endorse and record the review of Welfare Assessors on an annual basis
